What to Bring
- We understand that a caregiver may sometimes help coordinate care and appointments on behalf of a patient. However, the patient must always be present and attend all appointments, even if the appointment is virtual or by phone. Caregivers, support, or translators can also attend appointments.
- Please bring your health card with you to your appointment.
- If you are not covered through OHIP, please bring any insurance information.
- Bring a list of your current prescription medications and vitamins/supplements.
Other Notes
- If you do not speak or understand English, please ensure you can bring someone to your appointment that can communicate and understand English, and that they can stay for the full duration of your appointment.
Arrival Time
- For virtual appointments, please log in 5–10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
- 24 hours before your virtual appointment, you will receive an email and text message with your visit link and PIN.
- Please do not disconnect after joining, as the doctor may be a bit late. The usual wait time is less than 30 minutes.
- You must be physically present in Ontario at the time of the virtual appointment. This is a requirement of OHIP.
- For in-person appointments, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to complete some paperwork and check-in.
- If you late cancel or no show for your appointment, you may be charged a cancellation fee.
During the Visit
- An ECG test may be performed during your in-person appointment. If there is any other testing, it will have been explicitly scheduled. For example, an ECHO may be booked on the same day as your consult.
- Appointments typically last between 20 to 45 minutes.
- If there are results to review, the doctor will discuss them with you and recommend any necessary follow-up.
After the Visit
- You may need to book a follow-up appointment, which can be scheduled at the front desk or coordinated by the doctor’s admin team, who will contact you directly.
